The last day to play in Catawampus is Wednesday, May 6!
Deep in the heart of the Children’s Museum, there is a world where nothing is quite as it seems. If you dare to grab a lantern and step through the threshold, you will find yourself in a realm full of curious creatures and unexpected environments…
You’ve entered Catawampus!
But what does that mean, exactly?
The word “catawampus” dates back to the 1830s. As an adjective, it means “askew” or “awry,” and as a noun, denotes wild, mythical creatures. This exhibit brings both definitions to life, transporting visitors to a fantastical world that is home to a crew of loveable Catawampus Creatures. Discover the wonder before it's too late!
Catawampus is the second installation in the Museum’s rotating exhibit space, Gallery Uno. Each rendition is inspired by a single word, allowing the Museum to create whimsical and joyful experiences that spark connection and conversation.
The next Gallery Uno installation will open late summer, but several factors may affect this timeline. Stay tuned for updates!
